The Right Wireless Microphone for You

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

Performers love to use it, you can see them on the news and during interviews: the wireless microphone is everywhere these days and used for so many different applications. There are a couple of commonly used wireless microphones; the handheld and the hands-free.

The hands-free microphone is also called a Lavalier or lapel microphone. These first made their appearance on television fifty years ago and have since slimmed down in size considerable. These wireless microphones one or two inches tall these days and provide the user with high quality sound. The microphone itself is clipped to a person’s shirt or hidden underneath clothing. Highly utilized for those live theater performances for the ability to mount these wireless microphones under wigs and costume attire.

The other type of wireless microphone is the handheld, typically seen used by the media, live music productions and for music recording; these devices are also commonly used for karaoke. The handheld wireless mic gives the performer the freedom to move around stage and interact with the audience, all without the fear of tripping over the microphone cording.

You need to use a receiver and transmitter with your microphone in order for it to work. The transmitter is worn by the performer and is used to pick up the signal sent from the microphone. The transmitter is either a body-pack or belt-pack model. The receiver takes the signal that’s sent from the transmitter and turns it into an audio signal.

You can purchase these entire components together, wireless microphone included, in what is commonly referred to as a wireless microphone system. These systems operate on UHF or VHF and can provide the user with 150 feet to 300 feet of range capability, depending on the model and brand of the system your purchase as well as whether your system operates with UHF or VHF.

My son deserves a better education than what his school district can ...Have you ever considered taking voice lessons online? With singing lessons online you get a better education when it comes to learning how to sing because you get an instructor’s entire life worth of information in video form. This is great because it’s not only more cost-effective than taking private lessons but it’s also great because you get a lot more for that less amount of money. And you get to keep all the videos which is cool because you can watch them over and over if you want to. And because you get the lessons right away all up front you can kind of pick and choose and decide when you want to take what lesson. But most of them are set up systematically so you can go step by step and learn the right things at the right time. This is a great way to learn how to sing if you are wanting to better your singing voice and have found yourself a little bit frustrated with not knowing what to do to get to where you want to be.

Having My Video Properly Produced

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

My band mates and I decided that we would make a music video of our newest song. We knew what we wanted to do, we just did not have a video producer. I did a lot of research online, finding out how to produce, but it seemed like a very hard process. We decided that we would try to find a company to do it for us. I got online and searched for video production Brampton. Many results came up, but only one looked really inviting. I researched this company and found out they had great reviews. I called to make an appointment to talk to the producer and see what our options were and the prices involved. I really enjoyed talking to the producer and the company was ran really professionally. I am glad we chose this company to do our video with. Our video turned out great and looked very professionally produced.

My Girlfriend’s Ego

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

I hate getting into an argument with my girlfriend and she says “Oh you’re just saying that because you’ve got such a big ego!” I really hate that. It gets me madder and madder every time. As if the reason I’m mad has anything to do with some ‘ego’ and isn’t totally because she is just a nagger sometimes and always has to interrupt me when I’m on a high score and especially about something ridiculous like what Jenifer Aniston is wearing. Who cares? Honestly, who does? If I did have an ego then I’d be happy to blame that ego on the problem, or to agree with her that ego is the cause of my behaviour, but I’m not going to say that ego is the cause of something if it’s not. And I know that ego is not the cause of her being a dumb blonde half the time. That’s for sure.

So now that i’ve got that off my chest, I suppose I have to go and think about what she said. I looked up a definition of ego on the net and this is what Wikipedia says ego means: “Ego is a Latin word meaning “I”, cognate with the Greek “Εγώ (Ego)” meaning “I”, often used in English to mean the “self”, “identity” or other related concepts.” That didn’t help me get a better understanding of ego so I went to the free dictionary and this is how it defined ego: “The self, especially as distinct from the world and other selves. 2. In psychoanalysis, the division of the psyche that is conscious, most immediately controls thought and behavior, and is most in touch with external reality. 3.a. An exaggerated sense of self-importance; conceit. B. Appropriate pride in oneself; self-esteem.” So that’s starting to get a bit closer to what my girlfriend meant I think. And realising that gets me even madder. It’s like she thinks that what I have to say isn’t valid or is just me being pigheaded about some issue. She doesn’t even listen to the argument I’m saying or the reasons for why I do stuff. She just says “you’re an egocentric pig” and that’s the end of any rational discussion. Maybe it’s human nature and more specifically the human condition that men and women always fight, it certainly is in our relationship, but sometimes, like when she admits that she’s wrong, everything in our relationship goes great. Maybe she just needs to remember that. I’m not sure how good her memory is sometimes though. I know it’s very good when it comes to remembering the number of times I’ve been late or forgotten her birthday and other dumb things like that. But when it comes to real things, things that matter, I think she has a memory a bit like a sieve.

I hope we can work this out because I’m getting really sick and tired of her nagging at me all day, especially when I’m online gaming and on a high score. It’s so annoying I can’t tell you. If she stops blaming my ego on stuff then that’ll make things a lot easier.
