I Feel Much More Confident About My Trading Now
Saturday, January 14th, 2012
I first got into Forex trading about two years ago. I was doing strictly small trades then and making sure to not to over extend myself. Well a year into my trading I realized that I really had not made very much money at all. That is when I realized I needed Forex Training so I could learn how to succeed at this. Fortunately I found this great online series of videos that were completely free. Not only did I pick up a lot of tips and tricks of the trade from watching them I was also able to watch along as a professional Forex trader went through a round of trading so I could see exactly how he did it. It really opened my eyes to what I had been doing wrong and showed me that I had been sabotaging my own trades because I really did not know what I was doing.

A Forex Brokerage Will Handle Your Forex Trading Transactions
Friday, December 23rd, 2011
A Forex brokerage is the name given to a company that will place and fulfil your orders on the Forex markets. These middle men match orders in the market and will take your instructions and attempt to execute them. You should have no problems with your orders being filled and this is due to the high liquidity that is on offer in the currency markets. This means that there are always matched buyers. If the market become illiquid, then you may have to pay slightly more in order to get your orders ‘done.’ This is why many traders prefer to trade with companies that offer them fixed spreads. This means that no matter what is happening in the markets they can always trade with the same known costs on each transaction. Due to this ‘guarantee’ you will find that fixed spreads tend to be slightly higher than floating spreads. This is the trade off for known pricing.

Helpful Tip for Choosing the Right Stock Trend Program
Saturday, December 10th, 2011
If you like dabbling on the stock markets then you will need to have plenty of reliable tools at your disposal, one such tool that you definitely should have is a good stock trend program. These are applications that can give advice on which stocks are doing well, and which of them are most likely to go down in price so you could sell them immediately. There are literally hundreds of these programs out there so it is very tricky to choose which one you should go with, so here are some tips that will hopefully make it a little easier for you to decide.
Choose Those with Money-back Guarantees
Never spend your money on a stock trend program that does not at least have a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. In those thirty days you can more or less gauge how the said stock program works, if the program gives you accurate stock picks then continue using it, if not then demand for your money back. If the program developers have the utmost faith in their software’s quality and performance, then they are more than willing to guarantee your satisfaction.

Shortselling Stocks in General
Monday, September 12th, 2011
Short selling stocks is a great strategy especially if there is an opportunity to profit in penny stock investments. It is likely that the limited number of shares of stock available in the market for smaller stocks makes it hard to short penny investments. The limited liquidity can result in some of your orders not getting executed due to lack of interest by investors in the other side of the trade. That is why you need to go after stocks with a decent amount of liquidity. Even when it comes to penny stocks, you can find stocks that garner enough interest by the public that all your orders will execute.
While shortselling stocks is a worthwhile strategy it is possible to lose more than your principal when it comes to selling stocks short. You need to learn about the margin requirements of your broker and also what a margin call is and how it would affect your portfolio.

Commercial and Central Banks Dominate Forex
Wednesday, August 31st, 2011
The moves in currency markets are largely dictated by the inflow and outflow of money from commercial and Central banks. These big players in the market make up for the bulk of the transactions that are conducted in the currency markets. Between them they are responsible for the trading of several trillion dollars on the market per day. Central banks are the main issuing banks of currencies and will often hold alternative currencies to their own as either a hedge or simply for reserves in the market. There are of course other participants in the market with an increasing number of retail traders. This rise of these traders has been fuelled by the attractiveness of the currency markets as a trading choice. It is now easier than every to trade currencies online. They have also been attracted to this market by the potential to earn big profits by making the correct market calls.

Difference Between Traditional and Roth
Thursday, August 4th, 2011
The Roth IRA rules and regulations are totally different with those of the traditional IRA, but there are some rules and guidelines that are just similar with each other. For instance, with a Roth IRA, the contributions are taxed right away, thus the account holders may enjoy a tax-free withdrawal as long as the parameters are met. On the other hand, the contributions with a traditional IRA are tax-deductible, thus all withdrawals are subject to regular income taxes.
The taxes and contributions are not just the only difference between these two Individual Retirement Account plans. They are also different when it comes to the other famous withdrawal rule — the minimum required distribution, which is not applicable with Roth IRA. When the account holder reaches the age of 70 and 1/2, he is required to take minimum distribution from a traditional IRA in order to make sure that the account is zeroed out before he reaches his life expectancy age; thus, all taxes will be paid. There is no such mandatory withdrawal with Roth IRA.

Short Term Investment Strategies Based on Market Prices
Sunday, July 10th, 2011
Short term investing seems a little bit like an oxymoron. That is because, as many experts like to point out, investing strategies should be set for the long term. But in this post, I’d like to share with you how you can make money with short-lived fluctuations.
You should be thinking long term as an investor. I’m not disputing that. I’m just saying that even if you are looking far into the future and that is what your strategy entails, you can still take advantage of the temporary stuff that happens in the markets. I’m not advocating day trading stocks. I’m just suggesting exploiting opportunities that come up often.
Let’s take a typical investing strategy for example. You have a long term strategy that expects the economy to recover well and sustained in the next 4 quarters. One day, you wake up and there is some major news that happens to causes the Dow to slide 100 points.
In your mind, you know that the event is just transient and the market is being emotional. You know that prices will recover and continue to climb higher. You can take this short term event and make money on it. You simply add onto the positions your currently already hold while prices are low. You do this expecting the stock prices of your portfolio to recover to previous levels and to rise on top of that.
That is what Jim Rogers is doing with commodities. He’s very long in oil, silver, gold and rice. If prices go down for whatever reason, he is looking at it as an opportunity to buy more of it at a lower price.
This is how you can develop short term investment strategies that will make you money in the long run. Don’t pass them up just because you don’t want to turn into a day trader.

What Are the Risks of Converting to Roth Now?
Wednesday, June 15th, 2011
Starting 2010 the new rules about the Roth conversion commence. The conversion of traditional IRA into the Roth IRA is truly beneficial to many especially to those who earn a lot but probably not to all. There are some risks to the individuals that would probably not benefit them of the new Roth IRA conversion rule.
First is the tax cost is included with the Roth Conversion. Payment of the conversion must not be from the IRA itself but from the available cash or asset apart from the IRA. If the taxpayer is under 59 1/2, such distribution will be subject to 10% penalty as well as income tax on distribution. Second is tax benefit of a Roth IRA may be reduced if the taxpayer expected to be in a lower tax bracket at or near retirement. The tax benefit will also be reduced if the taxpayer that made the Roth conversion does not expect to live very long.

Gamma Scalping – How Gamma Scalping Works
Wednesday, June 15th, 2011
When most option traders think of gamma scalping they think of the way that it is traditionally traded – using stock. Basically how the strategy works is the option trader will buy a straddle, usually at the money, or, at the closest strike price to where the underlying is currently trading at. Once the straddle has been purchased, the option trader will then wait for a move to occur in the underlying and a profit to be realized in the straddle. There are several different ways to determine at what point – how when how much of a profit has been realized – to start adjusting this type of trade. Depending on what criteria you use, the next step is to make the gamma scalping adjustment to lock in any realized gains from the straddle position, and re set the overall position to once again be in the ideal spot to profit whichever way the underlying moves next.

I'm Going to Open a Roth IRA
Monday, May 30th, 2011
I need to start investing in my future. I have been working for a while, but I haven’t saved any money for my retirement yet. I always knew that I needed to do it, but for some reason, I just never bothered until now. I have spent all of my money on stuff, and I know that it is childish to do things like that. I’m ready to start like a grown up, which is why I have deciding to open roth ira. I can’t wait for the money to start growing. I know that it’s going to feel funny, saving this money instead of spending it on stuff, but that’s okay. I’m really glad that I made this decision because if I did not do it, when it comes time for retirement, I have found myself with not much money. I have seen it happen to some older people, and I don’t want that for myself.

Having Trouble with IG?
Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011
UK’s first ever financial spread betting company, IG Index, offer no hidden charges and incredibly low spreads across all their markets including forex, stock indices, shares and commodities. With their low deposit rates, you can gain more access to advanced market exposure, absolutely without providing the full amount required. And what’s more amazing, is that this low deposit rates can still be reduced even lower by adding a Guaranteed Stop or non-guaranteed Stop to your position. A non-guaranteed Stop may cause an order to close your position once the selected level has been breached. However, if the market moves very quickly or gaps, your position could be closed at a worse level than the one selected. A non-guaranteed Stop will reduce your deposit requirement but not by as much as a Guaranteed Stop. With a Guaranteed Stop, the amount that you initially paid for deposit will be limited to the maximum amount you could lose on that particular commodity. Meaning, you can always be in control with what you can lose or gain. At IG Index, you will never run out of choice.

The news that the oil usage is expected to increase by 1.7% to a new record high of 87.8 million barrels a day, these figures are from the U.S. Energy Department. With consumption increasing and supply thought to be tight it is not surprising that some speculators are saying we will see prices go over the $100 a barrel mark.

IRAs or Individual Retirement Account allows individuals to save money through a plan that has special tax considerations. Exchange Traded Fund Strategies
Wednesday, January 5th, 2011
How do you feel about waking up early in the morning and spending your entire day at work? Would you like to manage your own schedule? Would you like to sit comfortably at home and work? With the advent of online stock vendors, it is completely feasible. The time flexibility of working online is incomparable to anything else. A lot of people find that it would be easy and profitable to work with exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and for good reason: there is a large variety of investment choices available. But with that being said, some are better choices than others. The great reputation that they have comes from the large growth that they’re capbable of but this is a double-edged sword. Because of their growth potential there is an increasingly large risk of liquidity. According to some sources, an ETF should probably have a minimum threshold of $10 million in order to have a good amount of investment interest. If it is below this amount then there is a chance of poor liquidity. Trading volume is also something to look out for. Some ETFs have millions of shares traded everyday while others rarely do at all. What you need to know about this is, the higher the trading activity, the better an investment choice it is. Exchange traded funds are one of the best trend trading options, but if you’re thinking about trying it out you should adhere to some of these rules so you don’t end up losing money.
