Keep Your Spill Kits Handy when in the Work Shop
Friday, December 23rd, 2011
For any work place with machines, tools, and industrial chemicals, there are some equipment which you should have. First thing which comes to mind would be hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, saws, and others of the sort. These are real handy tools which are common tool shop fixtures. Even if you already have power tools which can do the job of these manual tools, the latter are a lot handier, and you can use them anywhere at any time without thinking about plugging them into the wall outlet.
Not as common, but almost as important are spill kits. Whether it’s an industrial building site, a commercial garage or your home workshop, spill kits should always be close at hand. There are many types of spill kits, and you would have to evaluate them yourself. Your choice of spill kit would depend on the tools, chemicals and other liquids in your garage. It is easy to say that every garage should have spill kits, in truth these usually have the lowest priority when it comes time to buy something at the hardware store. Although designed for liquid spills, including corrosive chemicals and flammable liquids of all sorts, not everyone has a spill kit. Most people prefer to use rags to clean around the work shop.
It is much rarer to see a label printer in the workshop. This is definitely an item which has many uses. Unfortunately, there are cheaper alternatives. Of course, the cheap alternatives do not print with the same quality as those of label printers. You definitely won’t be using a label printer very often, but it is also good to have one at your home or work area. The work shop or garage usually contains a lot of tin cans, boxes, and canisters of all sorts. After some time, most of these containers would no longer have their original labels. It’s a good idea to print labels for these containers before the originals fall off.

My Commission Checks Have Improved
Tuesday, June 14th, 2011
Time is always tight in the retail world. I have never entered into one of my retail stores and had the manager or order clerk ever tell me they had time to spare. Most of the time they glare at me because they do not want to be bothered with placing an order, or looking at new products, even when their shelves are empty.
Since my company has implemented Wrnty’s wholesaler software into our company, I no longer have to worry about time. My handheld is integrated with the system and I can access product information and inventory levels before entering the store. I can walk in, show the manager what they have on hand and what they need, and place the order. If I have new products to promote, I give them the quick view on my screen and order what they want as they browse. There are no long presentations needed, no catalogs or fliers to sort through. I can even, provide information on complimentary items to increase their sales. My commission checks have improved since the company began using this system.

Offering Gift Wrapping
Friday, June 10th, 2011
I think in a few months our online stores are going to start offering gift packaging for an extra fee. A lot of the products that we sell are good products for giving as gifts. If we could offer to pack the gifts for clients already, we could earn a few extra cents on the side. Actually, we could probably even do better yet if we had different wrapping paper the people could buy. Many times you can earn more money with accessories then you actually can with the product itself. We just have to find a company that will sell us the wrapping paper, and we have to have a few people hired just a package the gifts. It would be a pretty simple job to implement, and it would fit well into our general workflow. I think I’ll see if I can start by finding companies that will sell us the gift paper and talk to the webpage designer to see if he can implement the new feature.
